My Story
Juanita Ahuehuetzin (she/they/ella) is a 2024 graduate of Southwest Wisconsin Technical College with an associate degree in Direct Entry Midwifery. As a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), Juanita has met the rigorous standards set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM), ensuring a solid foundation to provide the Midwives Model of Care. With over 10 years of experience as a traditional birthworker. Juanita has supported countless families across Illinois, Wisconsin, and the borderlands of Texas through labor and birth, blending modern midwifery with ancestral practices.
In addition to her midwifery credentials, Juanita holds a wealth of certifications and trainings. These include BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), a BA in Cultural Anthropology, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Spinning Babies Certified Parent Educator and Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner. Juanita brings expertise in breech balancing and childbirth education, offering comprehensive, body-centered care. She is also a Yoni Steam Facilitator, craniosacral therapist, and dedicated keeper of traditional cuarentena—postpartum care rooted in birth rituals and holistic healing.
As a traditional partera (holistic midwife), Juanita’s approach to care is holistic and inclusive, addressing the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of pregnant individuals and their families. Her practice beautifully balances ancestral wisdom with evidence-based midwifery, promoting education, shared decision-making, and physical awareness to create an empowering experience for each family. Juanita’s work is deeply grounded in a passion for equity and reproductive justice, ensuring that every family receives compassionate, personalized care.
In her free time Juanita enjoys spending time with her four children, hiking, reading, gardening, and taking care of her many indoor house plants.
