Midwifery Care

At Partería 7 Generations Midwifery, we offer personalized, compassionate prenatal care for families planning to birth at home and those choosing other birthing spaces. Our care supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each client, fostering informed decision-making, trust in the body, and a deeper connection to the birth process. Through holistic support and culturally centered guidance, we nurture empowered and grounded pregnancy experiences—wherever your birth takes place.

Home Birth Care

Prenatal Care:

  • Our care schedule includes monthly visits until 28 weeks, bi-monthly visits until 36 weeks, and weekly visits until your due date, with bi-weekly visits for postdate pregnancies.

  • Your initial visit includes a comprehensive medical history review, physical examination, and lab work as needed.

  • For you, we offer assessments that include vital signs, screenings, nutritional counseling, and preventative care.

  • For your baby, we monitor fetal heart tones, assess fetal growth and position, and check amniotic fluid levels through gentle belly checks.

  • We provide holistic education, emotional support, and self-care practices throughout your pregnancy, empowering you to make informed decisions.   

  • Referrals to other appropriate providers are also available to ensure you have all the resources you need.

Labor and Birth Support: 

  • From 37 weeks onward, we are on-call for you 24/7

  • We will provide phone access during early labor

  • When labor becomes active, we will join you at home, providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

  • A certified birth assistants (NRP certified) will be assist me at all times.

  • We will ensuring your safety with non-disruptive, intermittent maternal and fetal monitoring.

  • We will we encouraged to follow your intuitive birthing instincts, when needed and desire guidance will be provided. 

  • We can provide an inflatable birth pool (additional charge).

  • Emergency medications and equipment are always on-site.

Immediate Postpartum Care: 

  • We will honor the safe and non-disruptive birth of your placenta.

  • We will provide a thorough vaginal exam, providing repairs if necessary.

  • We will honor your Golden Hour with immediate skin-to-skin contact, delayed cord clamping, and support for breastfeeding initiation and lactation.

  • Following the Golden Hour we will perform a thorough newborn exam with routine newborn medications available if desired.

  • Our birth team will stay for a minimum of three hours postpartum to ensure your well-being, and providing postpartum care instructions

  • We will clean up the birth site, leaving no mess behind.

Postpartum Care

  • Our ongoing postpartum care continues with both in-person and virtual clinical health assessments for you and your baby at 24-48 hours, week 1, week 2, week 4, week 6, month 3, month 6, one year.
